COMMUNITY REACH: THE CHRISTMAS PROJECT

This season is full of opportunity to make a tangible difference in the lives of people in our community. Thanks to your generosity, we are committed to give Christmas toy boxes to every child in our four adopted schools this year. Together we will also provide food hampers for over 100 homes - a Christmas meal with lots of fun extras, for families who could use some support. We get to do this.

Thank you, Church Family, for the way that you have invested. Together, we get to see a real impact.

There are many ways to be involved:

• Prepping for gift wrapping and food hamper assembly

• Picking up large food orders

• Wrapping gifts

• Assembling and delivering hampers

• Baking festive cookies

• Supporting through prayer and/or financial giving

Relate Community Reach is an extension of Relate Church focused on engaging with our local neighbourhoods. Our heart is to bring renewal and resource to the communities in which we’re planted. We’re here, simply, to serve our city and our church family well. 

If our church were to disappear tomorrow, would the community notice? This is the question we asked ourselves in 2009. It led to a conversation with the mayor and then the Surrey school board, asking how we could help. It didn’t take long for areas of need in our community to be identified. We began to serve in local prisons, adopt schools in our neighbourhood, and create programs to support at-risk youth. 

Over the last decade we have seen this dream develop, fuelled by growing partnerships with local schools and non-profit organizations doing good work. Our Community Reach initiatives involve all kinds of people who find purpose in making a tangible difference. We’re engaged in our local communities in Surrey mobilizing volunteers to foster relationships that place value on people.

• Giving

  Our Christmas Hampers wouldn’t be complete without homemade cookies. We need 120 dozen homemade, packaged cookies for hampers this year. If you’d like to bake, let us know here.

  Partner in prayer with us. We’re praying for supernatural provision, for God’s love and Spirit to be evident wherever we go, for lives to be impacted and miraculously changed. We’re prayer for God’s will to be done in our city as it is in Heaven.
